The Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted over 100 smuggled vehicles, including various models of Sport Utility Vehicles in the first quarter of 2023.

The Deputy Comptroller of Customs, also the Coordinator of Rapid Response Squad Headquarters, Jack Okpabi, disclosed this Monday while providing updates on the service’s quarterly achievements.
He said 38 of the intercepted vehicles had been forfeited to the federal government.
Okpabi urged stakeholders to synergize with Nigeria Customs for efficiency, adding that the operation will lead to the federal government’s recovery of over N400 million.
“We have over 100 vehicles, and 38 have been forfeited to the Federal Government. The operation will lead to the recovery of over N400m from demand notices”, he stated.
