The election, which was conducted under the supervision of National Union Officials of ASCSN, led by Comrade Isaac Ojemhenke as the Returning Officer, was held at the Commission’s conference hall. Proceedings commenced with the formal introduction of contestants by the electoral officers, followed by a briefing on the election guidelines.

Union members were duly accredited and subsequently cast their votes, after which the following candidates emerged victorious and were declared winners:

1. Ibrahim Mustapha – Chairman
2. Veronica Uche Aimufua – Vice Chairman
3. Nwadike Chidiebere K. – Secretary
4. Egbunike Onyedi Peace – Treasurer
5. Muhammed Habib Shehu – Ex-Officio

The announcement of the results was greeted with jubilation among staff members, who described the exercise as free, fair, and credible.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Mustapha, expressed gratitude to staff for the confidence reposed in the new executive team. He assured that the leadership would usher in a new dawn for NAICOM staff, emphasizing unity and collective progress.

He further appealed to his opponent, Comrade Oladimeji Salami, and other contestants who did not emerge victorious to put the contest behind them and join hands with the new leadership in the pursuit of staff welfare and career development.

Comrade Mustapha pledged to uphold transparency and accountability as the bedrock of his administration. He assured members that decisions would be guided by fairness, openness, and due process, with a commitment to ensuring that every member’s voice is heard and respected in the union’s affairs.

Lastly, he emphasized the importance of constructive and intellectual engagement, promising to create avenues for dialogue, innovative ideas, and collaborative problem-solving. According to him, only through unity of purpose, critical thinking, and meaningful engagement can the union advance the welfare of its members and strengthen its voice within the larger ASCSN framework
