Scores of Terrorists Killed as Air Strikes Target Convoy on Zamfara – Kebbi Border
Nigeria’s military high command has announced a significant and commendable operational achievement, as troops of air operations have effectively neutralized a large number of terrorists operating along the border between Zamfara and Kebbi States.
Major General Markus Kangye in a statement Friday said the precision strikes, carried out as Air Components of OPERATION FASAN YAMMA, specifically targeted a convoy of armed terrorists traversing a remote corridor known for its rampant bandit activities.
According to him, the decision to launch the coordinated air operation was based on actionable intelligence regarding the movement of the terrorist convoy. The convoy was suspected to be en route to key communities where they planned to carry out attacks. Surveillance efforts confirmed the presence of armed bandits and their logistical supplies, prompting an immediate response from the Air Component of OPERATION FASAN YAMMA.

Ground assessments have revealed a substantial disruption to the operational capacity of the terrorist group in the region. This successful mission highlights the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian military to eradicate terrorist threats and ensure the safety of citizens in the northwest region.
Ongoing operations are in place, with follow-up missions scheduled to prevent any potential regrouping of fleeing terrorist elements. The Nigerian Armed Forces express their appreciation for the cooperation of local communities and reaffirm their dedication to restoring peace and security across all affected areas. The resolute stance of the military in combating terrorism is pivotal in safeguarding the well-being of the populace and maintaining stability in the region.
