….Lawan Out
Business Africa Digest – Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have submitted the names of five presidential aspirants to President Muhammadu Buhari to pick a consensus candidate for the party.
The names submitted include the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State); Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation; and Governor Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State).
The name of Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, was however missing from the list.
Business Africa Digest learnt from a reliable source in the Presidential Villa that the President is yet to announce his choice at the time of filing this report.
A competent source in the APC however told our correspondent that if the President fails to communicate, the delegates will then decide who becomes the APC 2023 presidential candidate today.
