Uzoka-Anite to unveil Nigeria’s investment-grade roadmap at 6th Int’l DataPro webinar
Come October 8, 2026, Nigeria’s desire to attain an investment-grade sovereign credit rating by 2030 will be at the spotlight as the Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, unveils the Federal Government’s roadmap for achieving the ambitious target at the 6th DataPro International Rating Webinar.
The webinar, put together by DataPro, will dwell on the theme, “Achieving Investment Grade Rating by 2030: The Roadmap for Nigeria,” bringing together policymakers, development partners, academics and global credit-rating experts to examine the reforms required to strengthen Nigeria’s sovereign credit profile and improve investor confidence.
According to DataPro, Uzoka-Anite’s keynote presentation will outline the policy, institutional and macroeconomic reforms needed to reposition Nigeria for an investment-grade rating, expand access to international capital markets and support long-term economic transformation.
DataPro said the webinar would provide a platform for high-level discussions on strengthening sovereign credibility through improved institutional governance, sound macroeconomic policies and enhanced fiscal management.
The discussions are expected to examine structural vulnerabilities affecting Nigeria’s creditworthiness and identify measures for rebuilding investor confidence while reinforcing the country’s institutional and economic fundamentals.
DataPro noted that participants would also explore how ongoing fiscal and structural reforms can support the Federal Government’s ambition of growing Nigeria into a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
Uzoka-Anite, an economist and public policy expert, is expected to draw from her experience in economic management, having previously served as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Minister of State for Finance, and now Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning.
She will be joined by a panel of local and international experts, including Executive Director of Risk Management at the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Oluwakemi Babalogbon, and Dr. Misheck Mutize, Lead Expert on Credit Rating Agencies at the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).
Other speakers include Dr. Daniel Cash, Founder of the Credit Rating Research Initiative; Prof. Kai Gehring, Professor of Political Economy at the University of Bern; and Prof. Dr. Torsten Schmidt, Head of Macroeconomics and Public Finance Research at RWI-Essen, Germany.
DataPro said the webinar is designed to provide stakeholders with deeper insights into the reforms required to enhance Nigeria’s sovereign creditworthiness and create a more sustainable investment environment as the country pursues its long-term economic development agenda.
